1) The second topic I choose is Child Abuse.
2) "Child Abuse." Opposing Viewpoints Online Collection. Detroit: Gale, 2014. Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Web. 14 Oct. 2015.
3) This article discussed that the form of child abuse has changed in the eyes of the population. Physical abuse doesn't qualify as the only form anymore. Mental and emotional abuse is now more common than any other type.
4) The law defined child abuse as “the physical and mental injury, sexual abuse, negligent treatment or maltreatment of a child under the age of 18 by a person who is responsible for the child’s welfare under circumstances which indicate that the child’s heath and welfare is threatened or harmed. Also, Despite the official definition of child abuse, there are various instances in which it is difficult to determine whether abuse has occurred. A major area of debate is whether abuse must involve physical harm. Some people argue that shoving or slapping a child even without causing injury should be considered abuse. People also struggle to define Psychological abuse, debating such questions as whether abusive behavior includes humiliating a child or failing to provide emotional support.
5) What i would like to know more is, What necessarily constitutes as psychological abuse? What actions can we take to prevent such abuse when we do not directly know which child is being abused or not?
6) psychological damage is a word i understand but can get a deeper understanding on.
7) I understand this wording however, I feel I can get a deeper grasp on it if i were to look up the definition or other factual evidence on it.
8) Psychological abuse is a type of damage to the psyche that occurs as a result of a severely distressing event.
9) One question i would have for my peers is, How would you handle this situation if u were involved in it?

  1. Very good Maritza. Glad to see you are looking up words that you think you already understand but want to get a better grasp of. This is great.
